carcinoma cells (hela cells). Various concentrations:1,5,10,50,100,200 mg/ml of fruit/leaf extract and doksorubisin (positive control):0.5,1,5,10,20,50 mg/ml were evaluated. Observations were made 24 and 48 hour after incubating hela cells in each treatments.The results showed that both fruit/leaves might inhibit the growth of hela cells. Inhibitory concentration (ic50) of fruit extract after 24 hours of incubation is 196.74 mg/ml, leaf extract is 816.45 mg/ml. The corresponding value for doksorubisin is < 1 mg/ml. Ic50 after 48 hours of incubation were 114.34,512.14 mg/ml for fruit and leaf extract, and doksorubisin < 0.5 mg/ml. Inhibitory potential of fruits are much higher, approximately four times than that of leaves.
